How do people crop pictures so they have no background?

There is a free hand tool in Adobe Photoshop that allows you to draw around shapes and cut them out of the frame. you can cut your subject and paste them into a new doc or cut away the background and fill it with a color. you must close the shape by bringing the line back to itself to make a cut. you can enlare the view to get the details close to the faces
